Candidates for Wisconsin’s 87th Assembly District covering the area around Sawyer, Taylor, Rusk and Marathon counties are next in our series of Legislature and Congressional races in the November election. Invited to share their positions on local and statewide issues with WPR’s Ezra Wall were Democratic Elizabeth Riley of Hayward, a longtime English and nursing educator, and the incumbent Republican, James Edming, a small business owner from Glen Flora.

Also, Duluth singer-songwriter-violinist Gaelynn Lea, famed as a winner of National Public Radio’s Tiny Desk Contest, added composer to her credits last winter with an invitation to score the Broadway production of “Macbeth.” She joins “Simply Superior” host Robin Washington with highlights of the work, and also discusses disability culture in the music world as co-founder of Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities.
