Simply Folk 35th Anniversary, Old Field Tapes, and Early Vinyl

Simply Folk got started as a WPR program in 1979, and its first concert recording was made on Labor Day weekend the previous year. Join Stephanie Elkins this Sunday in celebration of 35 years – and then some – of Simply Folk, with excerpts from early field tapes, music that was broadcast that first year, and lots more. Pictured is the LP Steph just found in the library from the folks at A Prairie Home Companion (had to use the old card catalog) and she promises to fire up the turntable Sunday evening!
