Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21st—a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. This week on Simply Folk Jeff Durkee honors this world wide commitment to peace with a variety of classic songs about peace and love, including favorites from Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, and of course the late Pete Seeger. Also, new music from Old Crow Medicine Show, the folk duo Shovels & Rope, and Chris Thile with Edger Meyer. In the third hour of the show, we’ll take a listen to a recent conversation Stephanie Elkins had with the band Colorado folk group Elephant Revival. The fun starts at 5pm this Sunday!
