This week we focus on Wisconsin’s continuing problem with drunk driving and alcohol abuse… as the state legislature in Madison considers an extraordinary session to pass a bill that would strengthen Wisconsin’s OWI laws. Guests include Lisa Maroney, spokesperson for AWARE (All-Wisconsin Alcohol Risk Education), a group that is spearheading the drive to toughen drunk driving laws; Sue Nowak, Certified Prevention Specialist for Premier Recovery Services of Wausau; and Pete Wasson, Assistant Managing Editor for Public Service of the Wausau Daily Herald, a newspaper that has made drunk driving one of its editorial priorities. Discussion will include the proposed legislation in Madison and the rash of drunk driving tragedies and community leaders charged with drunk driving in North Central Wisconsin.
