Tom Cadwallader, a retired Lincoln County UW-Extension agent spent several years in the small Eastern European country of Moldova, nestled between Romania and Ukraine. NATO’s supreme allied commander General Philip Breedlove said this week that Moldova’s heavily Russian Trans-Dniester region could be targeted by Vladimir Putin, and suffer the same fate as Crimea. Host Glen Moberg will ask Cadwallader about the years he spent in Moldova through the U.S. Agency for International Development Farmer-to-Farmer program, helping the local people adjust to a market economy. Moldova was once known as the Soviet Union’s fruit and vegetable basket.
