This week we’ll look at the issue of redistricting reform in Wisconsin, in the wake of sweeping changes that were made to state legislative and congressional districts following the 2010 census. We’ll discuss the issue with 85th District State Representative Mandy Wright (D-Wausau) and Ed Miller, Professor of Political Science at UW-Stevens Point. Wright supports a bill that would take redistricting authority away from the political parties that control the Assembly and Senate and give it to the non-partisan Legislative Reference Bureau, a proposal that is modeled after the redistricting process used in Iowa. Miller was the co-chair of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court Committee on Redistricting. The program will also feature a recorded interview segment with former Seventh District Wisconsin Congressman Dave Obey (D-Wausau).
