We’ll look at the importance of philanthropy in meeting the needs of our local communities and helping them grow to meet future challenges. In a time of draconian budget cuts at the federal, state and local levels, private gift giving to regional community foundations and charities has become a vital means of accomplishing what political and government leaders are no longer willing to do. Guests will include: Jean Tehan, executive director of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin in Wausau; Terry Rothmann, executive director of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin in Stevens Point; and Kelly Lucas, executive director of the Community Foundation of South Wood County in Wisconsin Rapids.
