In the year since President Trump’s inauguration, the Washington Post set out to answer a question that may seem like a paradox in this era of ultra-polarization: what do Americans have in common? To find the answer, they interviewed 102 people in all 50 states and D.C. We talk with Post reporters about their conclusions and to a Wisconsin Public Radio reporter about an initiative to better understand voters and the issues they care about. Check out the What Unites Us project here.
