Dr. Zorba Paster shares holiday season health tips, Weather Guys talk snow, gales and Arctic warming

  • How to stay healthy this holiday season

    The holiday season is here! As we gather with friends and family, we all want to stay well and avoid those pesky colds and flus. Dr. Zorba Paster is back to explain how to be healthy during the coldest months of the year.

    Dr. Zorba’s Pumpkin Soup

    1 large onion, diced

    2 tablespoons butter

    2 tablespoons flour

    4 cups of chicken or veggie broth, heated to a simmer

    1 15 oz can of pumpkin

    1/2 cup half and half cream

    salt

    1. Saute onion in butter until clear
    2. Add flour and stir until slightly brown, about 2 minutes
    3. Add the broth
    4. Whisk well
    5. Add pumpkin and whisk again
    6. Cook for 30 minutes
    7. Add the cream — whisk
    8. Add salt to taste and more cream if you wish
