Central Wisconsin native Janel McCarville was a number one pick in the Women’s National Basketball Association draft in 2005 and spent years playing ball with teams in Charlotte, New York and Minnesota before retiring from the sport. Now, she’s back in her home community of Custer and coaching the next generation of female players at Stevens Point Area High School, her alma mater.
