You may have seen them cruising around your city’s downtown … and if not, they could be coming soon. Pedal taverns, or party bikes, have been around for the last decade or so, but the nation’s largest operator of these bikes is now planning a big expansion. Not everyone is on board, however. One Illinois community recently voted to ban the bikes from downtown. Other communities have been more receptive to the idea, but have struggled with how to classify and regulate them.
