As children, we’re impressionable, and we soak up knowledge and information like a sponge. That includes gender stereotypes, according to a first-of-its-kind study that found that children in almost every society across the globe believe in stereotypes by age 10. Our guest discusses findings of the worldwide study that included 450 adolescents and their parents and explains how gender expectations shape early adolescence and become restrictive “gender straitjackets” that can have negative consequences on boys and girls.
