DOJ Sues California Over Sanctuary Cities

The Department of Justice sued California over “sanctuary” laws in the state that limit state agents’ cooperation with federal immigration authorities. The DOJ says the state is contradicting federal law and putting law enforcement officers in danger, but California maintains that its laws are legal. We unpack the DOJ’s lawsuit and what it could mean for sanctuary cities across the country.
