U.S. Supreme Court Overturns Texas Abortion Restrictions
On Monday the U.S. Supreme Court announced their decision to overturn a Texas abortion restriction passed in 2013. In a 5-3 decision, justices decided the Texas law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles created an unconstitutional burden on women seeking abortions. We talk to an expert from the National Women’s Law Center about how this decision might affect other abortion laws in the nation, including a similar Wisconsin law currently tied up in the courts.
