Bail Funds Are Getting More Donations Than Ever — And More Backlash

The Minnesota Freedom Fund has received donations worth more than 300 times its annual budget in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests. At the same time, bail funds say they’re seeing prosecutors set higher bail fees. We look at what the increased power of bail funds means for the justice system.
