2018 State of the Union Address

President Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union address to the nation. One year into the Trump administration, the Speaker of the House has extended the traditional invitation to the president to “take account of the progress we have made” and “lay out the work that still remains to be done.” NPR will offer live special coverage of the President’s speech and the Democratic response. Special Coverage will be hosted by Ari Shapiro and Mary Louise Kelly. Also joining coverage: National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, Congressional Correspondent Susan Davis with addtional NPR correspondents and editors.
