Saturday Badgers Game Canceled After More COVID-19 Cases Reported

There Are Currently 27 Active Cases Within Football Program

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers football game against Purdue on Saturday has been canceled.

Athletics Director Barry Alvarez made the announcement this morning after 21 people in the football program tested positive for the coronavirus in the last seven days.

Since Oct. 27, 10 student-athletes and 11 staff have tested positive. There are currently 27 active cases in the program. The other 6 positive tests came in since Oct. 24.

The Badgers first paused team activities on Oct. 28. The team was scheduled to play Nebraska last Saturday, but that game was canceled.

The game against Purdue will not be rescheduled.
