Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind says he is not ruling out a run for governor in 2018.

Last November’s election in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District was uncontested, with no Republican stepping forward to challenge Kind’s bid for an 11th term.

On Thursday, the Congressman said the state needs new leadership after six years of Republican Gov. Scott Walker, and he hasn’t decided yet if he will run.

“I’ve been troubled, as many people have throughout the state, in regards to the direction of where we’ve gone as a state, the unnecessary division, pitting people against each other, dividing families,” Kind said. “We deserve better leadership, but no decision’s been made on my behalf.”

Kind was asked if he would rule out a run for governor.

“No, I haven’t made any decision one way or the other,” he replied.

Kind chose not to run for governor against Walker in 2014.
