Vicki Washington is the Associate Vice President for Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Student Success in the University Of Wisconsin System Office Of Academic Affairs, a position she has held since 2008. Vicki first joined UW System in 2005 when she left her position at UW Extension to accept the appointment of the Interim Assistant Vice President for the Office of Academic Diversity and Development in UW System Academic Affairs (hereinafter called The Office of IDEASS). The UW System Office of IDEASS provides leadership and support for several system- and statewide initiatives to increase access, retention and success for populations of students traditionally underrepresented in higher education – racial/ethnic minority, low-income, first generation, and for LGBTQ students, including work with the UW System’s Delivery Team; Inclusive Excellence, the UW System’s current strategic directions to achieve equity, diversity and inclusion; the Equity Scorecard, and the Wisconsin Transfer Equity Projects, collaborative projects with the Center for Urban Education at the University of Southern California; the Climate Assessment Survey; the UW System’s President’s Council on Diversity; KnowHow2Go Wisconsin, a partnership with the Great Lakes Higher Education Board and the Wisconsin Technical College System funded by the Lumina Foundation; COMPASS, a collaborative project involving three state higher education systems (California, Oregon and Wisconsin) and the American Association of Colleges and Universities; and Access2Success, a national project spearheaded by the Education Trust and NASH (National Association of System Heads.)
