Shalini Shankar

Shalini (Shaw-liny) like colony Shankar (Shun-kur like bunker) is a socio cultural and linguistic anthropologist at Northwestern University. Her central concerns include media, semiotics, race and ethnicity, youth culture, Asian America, and the South Asian diaspora. She is author of the book: “Advertising Diversity: Ad Agencies and the Creation of Asian American Consumers.”
