Sen. Dianne Hesselbein was elected to the state Senate in 2022. In December 2023 she was selected by her peers to serve as the Senate Democratic Leader. She previously served for 10 years in the state Assembly. Hesselbein represents a district serving western Dane County and parts of Iowa, Green, Columbia and Sauk counties.
