Robert F. Boszhardt, who goes by “Ernie”, is the former Associate Director and Regional Archaeologist at the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He is currently retired but still conducts field work and writes about archeological topics, including in his most recent work he co-authored “Hidden Thunder: Rock Art of the Upper Midwest.”
