Michelle Viste was appointed Executive Director of the Office of Crime Victims Services in August 2017. Viste joined the Wisconsin Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Litigation Unit in July 2015. Before joining DOJ, Viste spent 5 years as a Deputy District Attorney in the Dane County District Attorney’s Office where she was recognized for her outstanding work by the Wisconsin District Attorneys’ Association in 2015 when she received the Deputy District Attorney of the Year Award. Before her appointment as Deputy District Attorney, Viste spent 3 years prosecuting Domestic Violence cases in Dane County. Viste also served as the District Attorney in Waushara County from 2005-2006 and an Assistant District Attorney in Winnebago and Outagamie Counties from 2001-2005. As a criminal prosecutor, Viste successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases including homicides, home invasions, sexual assaults, crimes against children, drug cases, domestic violence, and sexual predator commitment cases.
