Menno Schilthuizen

Menno Schilthuizen is an ecologist and evolutionary biologist based at Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, the Netherlands. He holds a chair in evolution at Leiden University. From 2000 to 2006 he worked at the Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, where he studied land snail biology and evolution in tropical forests, caves, and limestone habitats. He has written on ecology and evolution for Science, Natural History, and other publications. He is the author of “Nature’s Nether Regions.”
