Melissa Faliveno is the author of Tomboyland. The book is a personal and universal essay collection about the mysteries of gender and desire, of identity and class. She grew up in Mount Horeb, which is in southwestern Wisconsin. She’s a writer, editor and teacher based in Brooklyn.
