Mary Jo Kane

Mary Jo Kane is a Professor Emerita of Sport Sociology at the School of Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota. Previously, she served as the founder and first Director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport. Mary Jo Kane has done research on the media coverage of women’s sport. She is also an expert on the passage, implementation, and impact of Title IX. Her research has been cited by the New York Times, Washington Post and NPR.
