Lisa Ruth Rand is an assistant professor of history at The California Institute of Technology also known as Caltech. She is a historian of science, technology, and the environment, with a primary interest in discarded and decaying things. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow for the Institute of the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
