Laura Lippman

Laura Lippman’s work includes the award-winning Tess Monaghan series, eleven critically acclaimed stand-alone novels, an anthology of short stories, and a children’s book. A New York Times bestseller, she has won more than 20 prizes for her crime fiction, including the Edgar and the Anthony. Her work also has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, O, the Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Slate, and the Guardian.

A reporter for 20 years, she began writing novels while working full-time at the Baltimore Sun, publishing seven books before leaving daily journalism in 2001. Her 2003 novel, Every Secret Thing, was optioned by Frances McDormand and made into a 2014 film starring Elizabeth Banks, Diane Lane, Dakota Fanning, Danielle Macdonald and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

Lippman lives in Baltimore with her husband, David Simon, and her young daughter.
