Lara Bazelon

Lara Bazelon is a professor of law and the director of the Criminal Juvenile Justice and Racial Justice Clinical Programs at the University of San Francisco School of Law. She is the The Barnett Professor of Trial Advocacy chair, which recognizes a faculty member with significant experience in trial advocacy. She was a federal public defender for seven years and former director of a Los Angeles-based innocence project. She is an author and a regular contributor to outlets such as Slate, Politico and The Atlantic, the New York Times. She is known as a vocal champion of women attorneys and criminal justice reform.
