Ken Foote is a geography professor at the University of Connecticut. He is the director of the Urban Community Studies Program. His specialty is public memory and commemoration in geography and landscapes. He is the author of Shadowed Ground: America’s Landscapes of Violence and Tragedy. He is a Madison native.
