Keith Uhlig grew up playing in the farm fields and woods east of Colby, Wisconsin. He was a newspaper reporter, mostly writing feature stories, for about 30 years. He lives in Wausau with his wife, Kristina, and Henry, a golden doodle, and he still likes to play in the fields and woods.
