Katie Songer

Katie Songer is a writer, ecologist, and environmental educator living in Madison, Wisconsin. She is an avid naturalist and worked at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources from 2008-13, spending several summers surveying and researching Wisconsin streams. Prior to the DNR she worked with environmental programs in a Portland, Oregon high school; lived and worked in a remote Tanzanian village with the Peace Corps; and earned a masters degree in soil and water conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently writing a memoir about her father.She is a co-author of “Field Guide to Wisconsin Streams: Plants, Fishes, Invertebrates, Amphibians, and Reptiles.”
