Kate Lebo

Kate Lebo, award-winning baker and writer, author of “Pie School: Lessons in Fruit, Flour, and Butter“ and “A Commonplace Book of Pie.” Her essays and poems have appeared or are forthcoming from Best American Essays, Best New Poets, New England Review, Gastronomica, Willow Springs, the Rumpus, 9th Letter and Poetry Northwest among other journals. Her food writing, recipes, and commentary have been featured in the Washington Post, 94.9 KUOW, City Arts Magazine, and many blogs. She has judged the Iowa State Fair Pie Contest, baked at the American Gothic House, and won Best in Show at the first annual Cake vs. Pie Competition. After earning her MFA from the University of Washington in June 2012, she opened Pie School, her roving pastry academy.
