Joe Shead (and yes, it’s pronounced “shed”) enjoys an outdoor life. Professionally, Joe has worked as managing editor of Deer & Deer Hunting magazine, and has served as senior editor at Sportsman’s Connection – makers of fishing maps and all-outdoor atlases. Joe is also a freelance writer and has written for Deer & Deer Hunting, Quality Whitetails, Wisconsin Outdoor Journal, Wisconsin Natural Resources, Wisconsin Trails, Wisconsin Outdoor News, Minnesota Conservation Volunteer, Canoe & Kayak and other publications.
A Wisconsin native and resident all his life, Joe feels blessed to live in a state known for its great hunting, fishing and conservation leadership. He enjoys writing, swimming and carving duck decoys when he can’t be on the lakes or in the tamaracks.
