Jenny Van Sickle is a member of the Superior City Council and was the first person of color and Native American to serve on the council and as its president. She is an Alaskan Native of Tlingit and Athabaskan heritage. She is one of the founders of Friends of the Fitz, working to create a memorial to the Edmund Fitzgerald.
