Jennie Romer is a single-use recycling expert who helped write plastic bag bans in California and New York. She’s a legal associate for the Surfrider Foundation’s Plastic Pollution Initiative, and has spent more than a decade as a lawyer working on plastic pollution laws. Her new book is called “Can I Recycle This? A Guide to Better Recycling and How to Reduce Single-Use Plastics.”
