Jeff Edwards started speed skating as a kid in the 1960s. He’s from Champaign, Illinois, and his family moved to Wisconsin in 1976. He’s a finish line judge for the Olympic trials currently taking place in Milwaukee. He eventually stopped competing, but he never quit speed skating entirely. He’s been a coach for the Madison speed skating club, a referee, an official and a finish judge for the sport.
