Jeanne Scherer

Jeanne Scherer is an Aquatic Invasive Species Outreach Specialist and the Statewide Purple Loosestrife Biocontrol Coordinator with UW Madison, Division of Extension-Natural Resources Institute contracted by the WI DNR.. She spent several years at the DNR office in Fitchburg office, monitoring AIS and responding to discoveries such as the New Zealand mudsnail, in the south central counties with the regional staff. Her DNR work now is at a statewide level. For UW Extension, she works with Tim Campbell, who led the writing of the Statewide AIS Management Plan, and hand in hand with the AIS statewide partnership that includes DNR staff, AIS Coordinators from non-profits and counties, lake and river organizations, and volunteers, providing them with information and materials for their outreach efforts.
