Writer and editor Heidi Greco has lived on Canada’s West Coast since 1970. Her most recent book, Glorious Birds: A Celebratory Homage to Harold and Maude, is a departure from her previous ones, which were mostly poetry collections, including one about Amelia Earhart. And though she doesn’t steal cars, she’s like Maude in that she’s still fighting for “big issues” – saving trees for one – and is currently working to save habitat that includes an aquifer.
