Elizabeth Shakman Hurd is a professor of political science and religious studies at Northwestern University. Her areas of expertise include U. S. foreign policy and America’s relations with the Middle East. Elizabeth Shakman Hurd teaches and writes on religion and politics, the politics of human rights and the right to religious freedom, the legal governance of religious diversity, U.S. foreign relations and the international politics of the Middle East.
