Dr. Ryan Westergaard, is the chief medical officer and state epidemiologist for communicable diseases at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health, Bureau of Communicable Diseases. He is also an assistant professor of medicine at UW School of Medicine and Public Health. He specializes in treating HIV and Hepatitis C with special emphasis on people who also have mental illness, people who use drugs and people who are incarcerated.
