Donna Weihofen, RD, MS

Donna Weihofen retired as a Senior Nutritionist at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and at the UW Carbone Cancer Center, but maintains her professional and personal interest in the prevention of age-related eye diseases through food and nutrition. Her main area of interest and expertise is the role of food and nutrition in the prevention of cancer, heart disease, obesity, age-related eye diseases and other chronic diseases. For community groups and low-vision support groups, she has developed a program titled “Eating for Your Eyes,” focusing on prevention of both cataracts and macular degeneration. Ms. Weihofen is the author of five cookbooks, is involved with a television series on food and nutrition topics marketed nation-wide through cable networks, and is a frequent speaker at conventions, meetings and workshops for health professionals. Her programs include “Fighting Cancer with Food & Nutrition,” “Eating the Mediterranean Way,” “Seven Nutrition Habits of Highly Healthy People,” and “To a Healthy You in 2011.”
