David Mikics is John and Rebecca Moores Distinguished professor in the English department and in the Honors College. He teaches and writes about poetry, intellectual history, and contemporary literature. Mikics won the University Teaching Excellence Award in 2001 and teaches often in The Human Situation. He has written essays on subjects ranging from Shakespeare, Freud, and the movies to contemporary fiction.
