Chai Moua

Chai Moua (she/ her) lives in Stevens Point with her partner and their four children. She has a Bachelors Degree in Human Services Management and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership. She holds a Family Development Specialist Certification from the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice and the University of Iowa School of Social Work. Chai started off her work in community organizing in one of Madison’s most isolated neighborhoods. This is where she realized her passion to fight for racial and gender equity. She has over 15 years of extensive experience working with low to no-income communities, especially the Hmong community. She currently serves as the Community Power Coalition Director at Freedom Inc., the only state coalition in WI building civic power and engagement in Asian Pacific Islander communities. Chai has received the HND IMPACT Award in 2017 and WI Community Action Program Exemplary Community Action Staff Member Award in 2015. Chai was elected Portage County Supervisor District 9 in the April 2018 election.
