Bob Montgomerie is professor of biology at Queen’s University in Ontario, where he studies the evolution of plumage colors and sexual behavior in birds. He is the co-author, with Tim Birkhead and Jo Wimpenny, of “Ten Thousand Birds: Ornithology since Darwin.”
