Anne McClintock

Anne McClintock is a writer and photographer who has been reporting on the ongoing environmental catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico following the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April 2010. McClintock investigated what she calls an extensive media cover-up of the disaster in 2010, the use of the highly toxic dispersant Corexit and the militarizing of the clean-up operations.McClintock is also the Simone de Beauvoir Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies at UW-Madison and the recipient of many awards, including two MacArthur-SSRC Fellowships.
