Anatoly Liberman is a professor in the Department of German, Nordic, Slavic and Dutch at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where he has taught since 1975. He writes the blog “Oxford Etymologist,” and has published three books on English etymology, including “Take My Word for It: A Dictionary of English Idioms,” published in 2022 by the University of Minnesota Press.
