Ali Berlow

Ali Berlow is the author of “The Mobile Poultry Slaughterhouse: Building a Humane Chicken-Processing Unit to Strengthen Your Local Food System” and “The Food Activist Handbook: Big & Small Things You Can Do to Help Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for Your Community.” Her essay series A Cook’s Notebook airs periodically on NPR member stations.

Ali and her husband Sam Berlow, launched Edible Vineyard in 2009. A quarterly print magazine, EV is dedicated to the local community on Martha’s Vineyard, featuring stories and recipes from the Island.

Berlow was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin.
