Milwaukee area developers who want to end special protection for a garter snake will have to wait longer to find out if that will happen or not. Today (wed) a legislative committee agreed to keep Butler’s garter snake on Wisconsin’s list of threatened species until mid April. The state DNR has until then to come up with a management plan.
