Political transition and its effects on rural health care


Control of Wisconsin state government changes from Democratic hands to Republican in one week.Each Monday at this time, we’ve been looking at different policy areas, and how they may be affected in the next session.

Today, it’s health care, particularly for rural residents. While Governor-Elect Scott Walker has vowed to help overturn the new federal health care law, he seems supportive of the requirement that states set up health insurance exchanges in which consumers and small businesses pool their buying power to purchase insurance at more affordable rates.
